ACT Strengthens Global Offering with the Appointment of Giles Wake as Director of Global Accounts
London, UK - 23 November 2009 —ACT Conferencing, a
global provider of corporate audio, web and video conferencing services, has appointed Giles Wake as director of global accounts.
Wake, who has a wealth of global sales experience in the conferencing and telecommunications industries, will manage a team of 12, working out of the company’s three main geographical regions, EMEA, Asia Pacific and North America, with a worldwide portfolio of some 500 plus accounts.
“Giles’ primary role is to lead his team to create a truly global sales approach in order to fully support our global customers in what is a very challenging market. Our customers have had to re-think their own structures and many have centralized in order to gain efficiencies. Our team is now ready to support this more than ever,” said David Gladding, senior director of global sales, ACT Conferencing. “We want our customers to be able to get consistency and the same quality of service wherever and whenever they call ACT. It’s surprising just how many companies claim a coherent sales approach but unfortunately that is just not the case.”
Prior to working at ACT Conferencing, Giles spent seven years in various roles at BT Global Services, latterly as global business manager with a focus on the retail, transport and logistics industries.
For 20 years, ACT Conferencing has provided managed, international and local-language conferencing services to companies around the world. Its solutions range from
ACT’s Elite audio conferencing service, a customized and operator-facilitated solution to
ReadyConnect®, a self-managed audio conferencing service that enables users to arrange and control their own conference calls 24x7. As well as its phone services, ACT also provides
video conferencing,
web conferencing,
webcasting, and video suite rentals through ACT Proximity.
