INTERGEO, Bremen, 1st October 2008 – AeroGRID the new aerial imagery alliance has announced the addition of two new core partners, i-cubed, Inc. (Fort Collins, Colorado, USA) and Scankort a.s. (Copenhagen, Denmark). With the addition of these new partners the AeroGRID consortium has extended its geodata footprint beyond Europe and become a global player. This has been achieved in a few months and makes AeroGRID one of the world’s leading suppliers of aerial imagery. Data is available in a number of different custom formats as specified by customers and online through the AeroGRID website –
www.aerogrid.net.
AeroGRID partners operate 10 different survey aircraft and high-resolution digital cameras. Partners sell AeroGRID data within their own markets but all imagery is made available for purchase online. AeroGRID partners contribute aerial imagery data, and coordinate flying resources to their mutual benefit. New partners are welcome to join in order to extend coverage both in and beyond Europe to build the world’s largest commercial aerial imagery dataset.
“The addition of i-cubed and Scankort with their significant content, acquisition and sales resources across the US and Scandinavian markets will help AeroGRID to fulfil its ambition to become the World’s largest supplier of commercial off-the-shelf aerial imagery. AeroGRID members aim to collect complete coverage of an area generating 2/3 of the Earths GDP,” said Miles Taylor General Manager of AeroGRID.
“We are excited by becoming partners of AeroGRID which means we can provide our customers with a best-of-breed solution that meets their global requirements,” commented Russ Cowart CEO of i-cubed.
“As a regional player covering the Nordic countries we are delighted that Scankort is part of a European and now Global footprint. This brings a completely new competitive perspective to the global geodata market,” said Mads Staunskjær, CEO of Scankort A/S.
