Aia Software meets the PDF/A ISO standard for archiving
« Posted: November 17, 2009, 10:31:04 PM »

- Aia becomes a member of the PDF/A Competence Centre

London, 17 November, 2009 - Aia Software (www.aia-itp.com), a leading author and developer of intelligent document composition software today announced that it supports the PDF/A standard (ISO 19005-1) with ITP version 3.5.8 and above. The platform therefore conforms to the guidelines on the long-term archiving of output.

Companies who archive their output digitally are obliged to ensure that their documents meet this standard. The addition of this functionality to ITP version 3.5.8 means that they do not need to put in any extra effort to make documents suitable for long-term archiving. Aia Software is now also a member of the PDF/A Competence Centre. The Competence Centre is a co-operation between various market leaders and experts in PDF technology.

“The market shows a growing interest in the PDF/A ISO standard for long-term archiving,” explains Paul Dirven, CEO of Aia Software. “In our view it is important that we enable our customers to make their documents suitable for long-term archiving straight from ITP, without the need for any additional steps. The ever stricter legislation and regulations on the digital archiving of documents means that this provides significant added value for companies and government bodies. We are also excited to have been able to join the PDF/A Competence Centre. The current membership of over 100 organisations makes the PDF/A Competence Centre a well-respected organisation. Membership is important for us as it gives us the opportunity to exchange information and experience related to long-term archiving with the other members."

Werner Broermann, Deputy of the Board of the PDF/A Competence Centre said, “We are very pleased to be able to welcome Aia Software as a member of the PDF/A Competence Centre. Our members have an important, collective responsibility to raise awareness of the PDF/A standard. To facilitate this, we organise events and seminars in various different countries. Aia Software can make a significant contribution towards this in the Netherlands. The fact that ITP 3.5.8 now meets this standard was a very good reason to admit Aia Software as a member."
