AKQA announces today that it will expand its operations in Europe with a new office in Berlin. Guy Wieynk, AKQA’s European Managing Director, will be responsible for the launch of the Berlin office which will be the company’s third in Europe. AKQA Berlin’s launch client is Nokia and the agency will be developing key applications for Ovi, the mobile internet services platform for Nokia, the world’s leading maker of mobile devices.

AKQA has started recruiting across Europe for the best creative, strategy and technical staff for the office. An advance team of UK employees has been working in temporary space in Berlin and AKQA will open its new office in late March 2010. In 2006 and 2007, AKQA opened offices in Amsterdam and Shanghai, respectively.
