Document management leaders relocate production facilities in a bid to expand target markets and further improve customer service
The EDM Group, the UK’s leading electronic document management solutions provider, has completed the relocation of its production facilities to a new purpose-developed site in Bilston, Wolverhampton. The all-modern facility will deliver improved service for customers including more storage space and improved security provision. The investment in new premises is a strategic move for EDM and will help the company to make further inroads into its target markets - financial services, healthcare and public services.
EDM provides electronic document management solutions and outsourced document processing services for some of the UK’s largest private and public sector organisations including Nationwide, West Bromwich Building Society, Bupa, Avis, DHL, Companies House and The NHS. The new facility was opened in a formal ceremony officiated by the Mayor of Wolverhampton and follows the relocation of EDM’s head office to the same site in 2008.
The new production facility offers state-of-the-art accommodation and infrastructure services incorporating goods receipt, despatch, document preparation and scanning and advances IT facilities for document hosting and production control. The move to new premises will provide customers with an improved level of service while also offering a contemporary working environment for EDM’s staff.
EDM is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. Consequently, the new facility has been designed with environmental considerations at its core. The layout of the building ensures that processes are as streamlined as possible, reducing waste. Movement sensors and low-energy equipment have also been installed to minimise the company’s carbon footprint.
Sam Ferguson, EDM’s chief executive, said: “This is a significant investment in the future of EDM. The move is part of our ongoing commitment to offer the best possible service to customers and to become a complete end-to-end service company – from document management services and e-mailroom to workflow and business process management.”
Ferguson concludes: “Organisations are under more pressure than ever to streamline their operations and find efficiencies in their business. Integrating electronic document management into business processes can deliver return on investment within months and allow savings of between 40% and 70%. EDM is expertly placed to help in this process and this investment in new facilities will help ensure we are the first choice for customers seeking to improve their efficiency in response to the economic challenges we all face.”
