Apple Activates $100 Offer For Early iPhone Customers

After announcing a $200 price cut for the iPhone, Apple quickly realized that it needs to take care of its annoyed early adopters. Steve Jobs received tons of angry emails from customers and on September 6, he decided to offer customers $100 "towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store," if their iPhone purchase was made outside of the 14-day sale period. Jobs said that more details would be revealed the following week and he stuck to his word.iPhone customers should enter in their iPhone serial number and phone number at Apple's website after which they will receive an SMS text message with an access code to redeem the $100 credit. The access code and the user's phone number will generate an electronic store credit of $100 to use towards any Apple Store purchase.
