LONDON, October 16th 2008 - Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral data centres, today announced that it has implemented a Secure Data Service (SDS) at Aquaterra Leisure’s Headquarters in London. SDS provides online back-up and disaster recovery services for Aquaterra, a charity specialising in the provision of leisure services on behalf of Local Authorities.
SDS is used to back up Aquaterra Leisure’s critical business data, including shared documents, managers’ mailboxes, membership records, payroll and payment details held on the company’s SQL server. Previously tapes were backed up off-site, but Aquaterra were concerned about the lack of fail-safe security built into the system, as well as recurring costs; this prompted them to research alternatives.
“Interxion has proved itself to be a partner in the true sense of the word,” said Andrew Powney, Information Systems Manager, Aquaterra Leisure. “I would recommend the company to other organisations that want to ensure that their business-critical data will be protected securely offsite and that they can build a solution that suits their specific business model.”
“SDS is an ultra-secure turnkey service which is designed to appeal to organisations of all shapes and sizes, and I am pleased that Aquaterra are enjoying working with it,” said Greg McCulloch, Managing Director, Interxion UK. “We have used our in-depth understanding of data security to provide a simple, intuitive and user-friendly solution.”
