Awards Nominations Open For 6th Data Centres Europe 2010

London, 14 January 2010 – Nominations for ten Awards categories for the 6th Data Centres Europe 2010 (www.datacentres.com/dce) have been released today. The final shortlist and Awards winners will be announced at the official ceremony and Gala Dinner which will take place at the Espaces Antipolis near Nice, in France on the evening of 22nd April 2010.

The Awards categories are as follows: Best New Entrant in European Data Centre Market, Best European Colocation Facility, Best European Enterprise Data Centre Facility, Best Regional European Data Centre, Best European Green Initiative Award, Best New European Cloud Services Award, Best European Sustainable Data Centre Design Award, Best Industry Cooling Innovation Award, and the Best European Managed Services Provider. In addition two special awards will be given: European CTO Award for Innovation in Data Centres and the Judges Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Data Centre Sector. http://www.datacentres.com/dce/awardsnominations/

For the first time, companies can accompany their entry with a video which can be used to enhance their entry nominations. The videos of winning companies will be played at the Awards Ceremony.

“Data Centre operators confront many new challenges as the pace of change in technologies increases and market growth is sustained,” commented Ashley Davies, managing director at JP Morgan, and chairman of the Judges Panel. “These annual Awards continue to define best in breed benchmarks for service quality, management excellence and technical achievement for the European Data Centre industry”.

The Judges Panel for the 2010 Awards includes, Chairman: Ashley Davies, Managing Director, JPMorgan Chase; Facilitator: Marion Howard-Healy, Senior Consultant, BroadGroup; Panel Members: Tim Anker, Founder & Director, Colo-X, Andrew Harrison, Director, ARUP, Bernard Lecanu, President, BLIC Consulting, France  and Alex Rabbetts, Managing Director, Migration Solutions.

The 6th Data Centres Europe 2010 will include a special focus on enterprise customers of data centres and their evolving outsourcing needs as emerging private clouds, new technologies and market shift impact across the sector. Uniquely the conference is provided each year with results of new research conducted by BroadGroup Consulting. Special workshops will cover Data Centre Security, Building new Data Centres and the implementation of the European Code of Conduct.
