Beat the Credit Crunch – Best Laptops Under £300
« Posted: October 23, 2008, 07:40:31 PM »

We’re all trying to save money at the moment, but what happens if your laptop packs up and you can’t or won’t wait to replace it? Consumer review website Reevoo.com (www.reevoo.com) has identified the best laptops to buy for £300 or less.

For small businesses, students or anyone who is always on the go, laptops can provide far more flexibility than your average desktop. And with most broadband providers giving away wireless routers these days, laptops have really come into their own.

From over 80 different laptops reviewed on the site by genuine shoppers, Reevoo has identified the most highly rated that retail for a maximum of £300.

Top five laptops up to £300:

1. Asus EEE PC 4GB INT - £170
2. Advent 4211 - £230
3. Packard Bell MX37 T003 - £300
4. Toshiba Equium L350-10L - £300
5. Compaq CQ50100EM SI40 - £300

For the full list, see Reevoo’s blog Decide What to Buy.

If you think £300 won’t get you very much when it comes to a laptop, you’d be mistaken.  The 17 inch Toshiba Equium L350-10L, for example, comes with a 120GB hard drive, Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo processor, DVD writer and 2GB of RAM – that’s a lot of laptop for only £300, which was why people praised this machine for its value for money.

In fact, all of these laptops have really impressed consumers for their value for money. The Advent 4211 was also applauded for its ease of use and the Packard Bell MX37 T003 was praised highly for performance.

And if you think that you can’t get great design at this price, take a look at the Compaq CQ50100EM SI40.  The reviews are full of people raving about its sleek design and good looks. It also has a 120GB hard drive and a DVD writer - although it only has half the memory of the Toshiba.

Consumers have recognised that all of these laptops offer great value but the top spot goes to the Asus EEE PC 4GB INT. Weighing in at just 0.92kg, with integrated webcam and WiFi for wireless internet, it’s the most highly rated laptop under £300 on Reevoo.

So if you’re after a laptop that’s easy to use, looks good and is packed full of features, there’s no need to dig deep into your pockets. Save some money, read reviews and grab yourself a bargain.
