10 September 2008 - BigBand Networks, Inc. is extending its leadership in digital video networking with the introduction of a new network-based media processing platform to help broadband service providers seamlessly transition from a broadcast video distribution model to personalised video delivery. BigBand’s new platform is designed to cost-effectively deliver personalised video services, including IPTV, addressable advertising, higher-quality multi-channel HD and value-added interactive services.
The BigBand Media Services Platform, MSP2000, gives broadband service providers an evolutionary path to delivering personalised video services and harnesses existing infrastructure to open new revenue opportunities per subscriber, including via more relevant advertising. The platform leverages BigBand’s proven rich media processing experience using an innovative networking architecture and carrier-grade design to enhance the quality of video services across cable, DSL, fiber and wireless access networks. The BigBand MSP2000 can be simply added to any broadband access network, combining IP networking capabilities with rich media processing power.
