Bill Gates' fund raises stake in Republic Services

Bill Gates' investment fund Cascade Investment LLC increased its stake in trash hauler Republic Services Inc. to 15.1 percent from 13.7 percent, according to a regulatory filing on Friday.The Microsoft Corp. chairman's fund did not reveal when it bought the shares or their price in the "passive" filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Cascade also did not reveal the purposes behind the transactions.The increase in holdings bring Cascade's stake in Republic Services up to 28.54 million shares.
