Immediacy, part of the Mediasurface group, Europe’s leading content management solution provider, powers the new youth focused website for the British Heart Foundation
www.yheart.net designed to attract, inform and create connections for teenagers with heart conditions.
April 3rd 2008 - Immediacy, one of the leading UK content management solution providers (part of the Mediasurface group (UK, AIM: MSR)) announces its collaboration with partners UTL and Positive Digital for the launch of the British Heart Foundation new teen focused website,
www.yheart.net. Fresh, fun and funky, the new site is the UK’s only website dedicated to serving information on heart conditions to teenagers. A source of facts and knowledge for teenage heart condition sufferers,
www.yheart.net also provides teens with a crucially important place to hook into a community of peers with whom they can network, message and interact. The website was designed by Positive Digital and implemented by UTL, the development arm of the Positive Thinking Group, using the power of the Immediacy Web Content Management suite.
www.yheart.net is a destination site for teenagers with heart conditions. Revamping the old website with outstanding youth centric design and interactive features, British Heart Foundation have used the scalable, easy to use content management functionality of Immediacy WCMs so their in-house, non technical promotional and marketing team can edit and maintain the site on a daily basis. Serving information relevant to teenage heart conditions from smoking and drugs, to animated clips of the heart in action, the new website also boasts events, interactive games and competitions alongside a secure forum and community area designed specifically to provide a safe arena in which teens can communicate.
The British Heart Foundation is dedicated to providing the best possible care for those with heart conditions and this commitment to quality is echoed throughout
www.yheart.net. Designed using a teenage test group during the pilot, the British Heart Foundation wants the forums and secure networking areas of the website to become an established resource for teens with heart conditions.
British Heart Foundation uses the flexibility of the Immediacy Web Content Management suite and experience of UTL and Positive Digital to deliver a richer web experience including Site Surveys, Suggest a Poll forms and content managed ‘Quiz of the month’ competitions.
Nicki Cooper, Head of Heart Health at the BHF said; "We wanted to create a website that spoke to teenagers and that's why we involved teams of teenage pilot testers for different sections. They told us what they wanted to see on the website, and that's why it's full of useful stuff about the heart and what we can do to keep it in the best condition we can."
Garrett Dearey, Account Director, Positive Digital comments: “The British Heart Foundation yheart website is an essential resource for any young person living with the challenges of a heart condition. The launch event was already set before we even started but working with Immediacy meant that we were able to deliver the British Heart Foundation a well designed, interactive website, on time and on budget, which has a reliable, scalable content management suite at its core.”
Andy Peart, Chief Marketing Officer for Mediasurface said: “The British Heart Foundation website is informative yet fun for teenagers from all walks of life to use and is an excellent example of how a clear client vision combined with good design and consultancy, built on the right content management platform can give outstanding results.”
