10 October 2012 — Cambium Networks, leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, has unveiled its Canopy PMP 450 for the first time in Europe today, ahead of next week’s Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam. The fourth-generation point-to-multipoint (PMP) fixed wireless broadband access solution delivers the capacity and performance required to meet the increasing demand of today’s market.

The platform enables service providers to rapidly deploy new services and increase revenue and profitability by operating with a combination of high throughput, low latency and GPS synchronization. This allows service providers to see a much faster return on investment. With the increased capacity provided by the PMP 450, service providers now have the option to provide additional bandwidth and expand network connectivity.

“The PMP 450 is a real game-changer in today’s demanding market,” comments Ian Bayly, VP EMEA Sales and Marketing at Cambium Networks. “With growing expectations for fast, reliable, enterprise grade fixed broadband and small cell backhaul, wireless providers can now expand their existing networks and add new customers in a cost effective way. This helps them boost their profits whilst delivering Next Generation services that are faster than the current EU directives.”

Mr. Bayly will give a presentation in the Wireless Focus session at the Broadband World Forum, entitled “Building Next-Gen Networks for the Delivery of Triple Play Services”, as part of the Wireless Broadband Summit. The presentation will take place on Thursday 18 October at 14:55 – 15:15 and attendees of the Broadband World Forum are invited to drop in to the session. Alternatively visit the Cambium Networks team at stand A17.

This follows the launch of Cambium’s PTP 810i All-Indoor solution earlier this month.  Ideal for use in high-power, indoor environments where long distance support and spatial diversity are required, the addition of the PTP 810i solution will grow Cambium’s existing PTP 810 family of licensed microwave products offering service providers and network operators a highly flexible, scalable and cost-effective hybrid solution as the market evolves to support packet-based, VoIP systems.

The Broadband World Forum will take place at the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam on 16-18 October 2012. For more information about the event visit http://www.broadbandworldforum.com/
