CDC Announces Groundbreaking Collaborative Research Agreement with the Informatics Research Centre at the University of Reading
London, 19 November 2008: CDC, the Intelligent Buildings people, have announced the formation of a ground breaking collaborative research agreement with The Informatics Research Centre (IRC) at the University of Reading.
The collaboration embraces a wide range of research and development activities in informatics, information systems and engineering, including joint participation in software development. In addition to technical input, CDC has been contributing financially to an EPSRC funded research project of systems integration and other postgraduate research. Through the Informatics Research Centre, CDC has a permanent presence at the University to enable close collaboration.
Mike Williams, CEO and Founder of CDC comments: “This is a natural extension of the involvement which both CDC and the Intelligent Buildings Group have had with the University. This goes back more than a decade, when CDC was instrumental in the establishment of the Masters Degree course in Intelligent Buildings, which was established at the university with financial assistance from the ESPRC.”
CDC designs and markets IntegraTM, a configurable out-of-the-box software interface between building systems and the IP infrastructure. The IntegraTM interface uses IP as the common translator between the many different disparate building systems, acting as the aggregator of information in a common normalised open format. As a result, IntegraTM facilitates easy management and monitoring of single or multiple building services, in real-time via a single, easy to use enterprise management application. It provides comprehensive audit trails and also supports the management of maintenance contractor performance.
