Most Popular iPhone Phrasebook has Over 200 New Words and Phrases Added
New York, January 13th 2009: Coolgorilla, the world’s most primitive software developers who have been at the forefront of the evolution of mobile translation products, have launched a new talking
phrasebook for all iPhone and iPod Touch users. The phrasebook is available in seven different language versions, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japenese, Portuguese and Spanish, and can be downloaded by visiting Apple’s App Store.
Searching through a printed phrasebook is now a thing of the past as Coolgorilla’s intuitive application allows consumers to search quickly and simply for a phrase in English and let their iPhone speak the phrase in the foreign language. A real, native accent is used and the text translation is also provided on the screen. Each phrasebook contains over 500 sound files covering all elements of the holiday experience including Eating, Travel and even Flirting. The talking phrasebooks also have a new search functionality included. Users can now quickly and easily search for all phrases with, for example, ‘taxi’.
Mobile phones are globally recognised as an excellent way to communicate and people everywhere are used to interacting with an iPhone. Coolgorilla’s talking
phrasebooks allow your iPhone to communicate on your behalf, directly with the locals you meet on holiday.
“We’ve worked really hard to improve the phrasebooks yet again,” said Roy Forsdick, MD of Coolgorilla. “Since we started developing the talking phrasebooks in 2005 we’ve spoken to hundreds of travellers to find out what phrases they would like to see included. With over 40 different categories in this version, we’re confident that they will enrich people’s holiday experience.”
At only $0.99 to download from Apple’s App Store, the new phrasebooks from Coolgorilla offer excellent value for money. Cheaper, and much more convenient, than printed versions, Coolgorilla’s phrasebooks are also better value than other downloadable applications. Some brands charge up to ten times the price to download their application, while others require you to connect to the internet to receive your translation, often resulting in poor translations and very expensive phone bills when used abroad.
Using Coolgorilla’s new talking phrasebooks holidaymakers will be able enjoy their break to the full. An increased list of activity based words and phrases means you can now ask to go skydiving in Greece, or on a helicopter ride in Portugal. The phrasebooks also include localised options such as playing boules in France, or visiting a traditional German beer hall.
