DIGITALK Limited, Milton Keynes, UK 9th May, 2012
DIGITALK, an independent vendor of Carrier, Consumer and Mobile communications solutions to retail and wholesale service providers worldwide, has announced the addition of US Jurisdictional Routing to its SBC VoIP Peering platform, enabling US service providers to apply margin- and quality-based routing to domestic as well as international long distance carrier routing.
The routing of long distance calls across the North America Numbering Plan (NANP) is complicated by the division of number ranges across both geographic and administrative boundaries, as well as their ownership by the different operating companies. Number ownership transfers due to number portability also need to be taken into account. Altogether, the complexity of the numbering structure and routing rules, plus the volume of number ranges to be supported, demand an automated solution for effective US Jurisdictional Routing.
DIGITALK's SBC VoIP Peering is designed to accommodate many routing plans across hundreds of carriers, with frequent zone, code and rate updates. DIGITALK now offers the capabilities of rate and number range uploads, routing plan changes, margin control, quality of service monitoring, and service reporting with the introduction of US Jurisdictional Routing into the product.
As Justin Norris commented, "With national as well as international long distance routing, US carriers need to ensure that they can route their calls reliably and cost-efficiently. Our Jurisdictional Routing capability simplifies the operations tasks using the sophisticated VoIP Peering Manager so that carriers can concentrate on their services and their business."
DIGITALK will be taking part in International Telecoms Week in Chicago between 14th and 16th May. Please email
