easyCar is today announcing the launch of its new car hire website in Ireland - easycar.ie
The new website follows an increase in the number of Irish residents who already use the low cost car hire company's easycar.com website for their car hire requirements.
Providing a dedicated website for customers in Ireland will allow easyCar to offer more relevant car hire offers, exclusive discounts and special promotions to Irish residents.
Since its conception in 2000, easyCar has grown into a global car hire broker, with over 2,400 locations in over 60 countries across the globe. The advantage of this style of business is that it gives easyCar.com access to multiple rental car suppliers, from international brands to quality local suppliers, giving customers even more choice in each location. Customers are offered fully inclusive rates on car hire, with an added option to pre-book insurance excess before arriving at the car rental desk.
Bill Jones, CEO of easyCar, said “we want all our customers to have a great online experience, and having a single website for a global market is not always the best way to offer customers in all our countries exactly what they want. We have spotted a strong trend in Ireland, and wanted to offer the Irish market their own, dedicated website to book from."
To support to launch of the new car hire website, customers in Ireland booking before 30 June and using the promotion code "Launch" on the website will receive an extra discount of up to 10% off their hire car booking.
In developing this new website, easyCar has come across some interesting national and international trends about its existing rental car customers from Ireland.
It seems that for many car hire customers in Ireland, size is important - the Irish were more likely to rent estate cars or people carriers (19%) than the English (15%) or the Americans (12%). However, at the opposite end of the size scale, Irish residents were twice as likely as other nationalities to rent Super Minis (13%) when abroad.
Some interesting domestic differences have emerged - for example, customers living in Limerick (8%) were more likely than those in Waterford (5%) to rent a convertible car whilst overseas on holiday, whereas those living in Galway were less likely than those living in Sligo to rent a Jeep style Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
In terms of top selling locations for car hire customers in Ireland, the following emerged;

Bill Jones concluded; "We have seen an ever stronger rise in Irish customers booking with easyCar - in popular holiday locations, such as the Spanish Costas or Florida in the USA, in business trip locations such as Frankfurt, through to more far flung locations such as Gaborone in Botswana. Now that we have a dedicated Irish website, we expect this good growth to continue into the future."
