Econsultancy announce new Video for the Web training course
« Posted: August 18, 2009, 10:07:53 PM »

Econsultancy, the leading provider of training in online marketing and e-commerce, has launched a new one day training course called Video for the Web (http://econsultancy.com/training/courses/video-for-the-web), for businesses wanting to develop richer customer experiences through the evolving medium of online video.

In the UK we watch nearly four million videos each month on the web*, with that figure still growing, demonstrating the largely untapped marketing opportunity video presents for businesses.

Econsultancy logoThe workshops will be run by Christian Payne (AKA Documentally), an experienced journalist in social media, citizen journalism, professional photography and audio and video podcasting. Christian maintains and host blogs and podcasts with readers and listeners in over sixty countries.

“Many agencies and clients have invested in the equipment but have failed to invest in skilling up their people to create, edit and distribute memorable video content.  The Econsultancy workshop combines the right mixture of practice and theory to ensure that delegates get a solid understanding of how to produce and disseminate video through online channels.”

The course is aimed at marketing and PR professionals, bloggers and journalists who want to reach customers using video, and is suitable for all business sizes, across all sectors. Delegates will learn the skills needed to present and produce their own web videos and ensure that they are distributed effectively and ‘findable’ for their audiences.

Econsultancy’s Training Director, Craig Hanna explains why there’s a need for web video training: "Econsultancy believe that the future of the web will be one where video is much more prevalent than it already is. We know that creating engaging video creates a richer experience for customers which in turn leads to better conversion rates.

“What we are now seeing is Google appreciating the value of this content and showing it in its search listings more and more and how video can be a core element of online PR and social media campaigns. This course aims to provide the basic skills to shoot quality video assets and use it effectively as a marketing and PR tool.”

The first Video for the Web training course (http://econsultancy.com/training/courses/video-for-the-web) will be held in London on 30 September 2009.
