E-fect consortium forms to bid for the Ministry of Defence’s Future Logistic Information Services Programme

A consortium headed by Fujitsu Services and comprising, Lockheed Martin UK and LSC Group has announced the formation of a new team, called E-fect, to bid for the Ministry of Defence’s Future Logistic Information Services programme (FLIS). The FLIS programme aims to provide a service, managed and owned by Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), on behalf of the MoD, to sustain, develop and integrate Logistic Information in order to support the transformation and execution of Defence Logistic processes.

“E-fect understands the MoD’s current logistics challenges and brings together the optimal balance of skills and experience to transform the current operation to increase the efficiency and agility of the MoD’s overall logistic support chain and provide a better, more flexible and responsive service to the Armed Forces” said Roger Hood, E-fect campaign director.
“E-fect’s partner companies each have proven experience of working in partnership with the MoD and bring this strong record of successful delivery to FLIS.”

The Delivery Partner selected to fulfil the FLIS requirements will be responsible for the provision of information systems and applications to enable the coordination and effective working of all parties involved in the support chain, including the industrial companies, the DE&S and the front line commands. “E-fect will deliver a coherent end-2-end logistic information service providing relevant, authoritative and timely information to all levels involved in decision making,” said Hood.

Fujitsu Services is one of Europe’s leading IT services companies with a history of delivering highly complex IT solutions and services to the MoD for more than 40 years.  Worldwide, the Fujitsu Group, with approximately 160,000 employees, supporting customers in 70 countries, combines systems and services experts with highly reliable computing and communications products and advanced microelectronics.

Lockheed Martin UK, a unit of Lockheed Martin Corporation, is a leader in systems integration working on major programmes spanning the aerospace, defence and civil sectors. Lockheed Martin works with more than 100 business partners and employs over 1,700 people at sites across the UK.

LSC Group is a solutions, services and management consulting company, dedicated to the delivery of efficient and effective services to meet the business transformation challenges of today and tomorrow.
