Driven by business and user demand, the evaluation and consumption of software applications is rapidly changing. This new Imago Techmedia event is the one place to discover how today’s IT mega trends of Mobile, Social, Big Data & Cloud have transformed the criteria enterprises use to evaluate their business software, and the economic models for purchasing it.
London, 11 July 2012: Enterprise Applications Expo, an event dedicated to companies looking to evaluate software applications best suited for their business – from reporting, accounting, CRM to HR & payroll – and new ways to consume them, will open its doors at London Olympia in May 2013.
With the “consumerisation of IT” and the concept of “IT Anywhere” businesses and users alike are increasingly looking for new and innovative ways of working, on the device and application of their choice, in any environment – whether at their desks, on the move or at home. Enterprise Applications Expo offers decision makers and software users the opportunity to discover the latest innovations, products and updates to drive productivity, efficiency and collaboration, but, more importantly, the new ways of consuming them.
The talk of next-generation software distribution, the so-called “Enterprise App Store”, already launched by SAP, follows the model that has proved so successful in the consumer app world - offering users selection, convenience, and great prices. Enterprise Applications Expo will recreate this environment, where visitors will be able to not only trial the latest products, find out more about delivery and payment options, but also attend seminars and speak to experts about the benefits to their businesses and its users.
The new exhibition is being launched by Imago Techmedia, the company behind the original Softworld in the 1990s. Softworld was for some considerable time the UK’s leading business software event, attended at its height in the 1990s by businesses looking for new products, updates and software suppliers. However, it closed last year as visitors felt that the content had lost its relevance.
Imago Techmedia, thought leader in the ICT events industry, successfully runs IP EXPO and Unified Communications Expo, the UK’s leading ICT and business communications events. It sees Enterprise Applications Expo filling the niche in the market left by Softworld, as it meets the demand for a more innovative software event that keeps up-to-date with the changing business landscape.
Enterprise Applications Expo is being supported by ICAEW’s (Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales) IT Faculty.
“Accountants are the prime users of finance applications and invest in technology on behalf of their company,” says Richard Anning from ICAEW’s IT Faculty. “We receive a number of enquiries from our members about which applications are best suited for their business - for reporting, accounting, CRM, HR & Payroll. An event such as Enterprise Applications Expo will help support our members make the best choices when selecting the business applications they need for the work they do.”
“We are really excited about this new market, as there is currently nothing linking vendors with end users,” says Hugh Keeble, managing director of Imago Techmedia. “In many ways, the current software application landscape is reminiscent of the late 1990s, at Softworld’s height, when businesses were evaluating software applications in light of Y2K and the introduction of the Euro. The developments in software consumption, Software-as-a-Service and the delivery options that moving to the Cloud offer, proves once again this type of industry forum will be of enormous help to vendors. Enterprise Applications Expo is now the only event that provides vendors with a platform to demonstrate these latest innovations.”
Attendees, exhibitors and sponsors can expect the same experience and professionalism they find at other Imago Techmedia events: seminars from industry leaders on hot topics and issues; pre-built “plug and play” exhibitor spaces; support before, during and post event; and much more.
