2nd October 2008, Reading, UK – Adax Europe, an industry leader in high performance signaling infrastructure, has announced that its HDCII-LPe SS7 boards are being deployed by EVISTEL in the latest version of its Charging Center solution.
The HDCII-LPe boards are being used to facilitate value-added services for EVISTEL customers, specifically real-time charging for pre-paid roaming and advanced messaging. The HDCII-LPe is the half-height form factor of the Adax PCI Express (PCIe) board and is compatible with both low profile and full height PCIe slots.
“The HDCII-LPe offers us more SS7 time slots per board, meaning that we can help our customers to achieve more while requiring fewer servers,” explains Thierry Lafue, Head of Marketing and Pre-sales Department at EVISTEL. “The high capacity of Adax SS7 boards – proved during the evaluation phase - will help us to increase the performances and reduce the footprint of our solutions.”
The Adax HDCII-LPe is one the few SS7 boards of its kind on the market which is available in the low-profile form factor, allowing telecommunications equipment manufacturers (TEMs) like EVISTEL to help network operators to benefit from developments in blade server technology.
“The number of systems using low profile PCIe is growing rapidly and there’s even speculation that major server vendors will start to conform solely with the LPe form factor over the next few years,” comments Robin Kent, Director, European Operations at Adax. “We’re already seeing interest in the LPe version of our signaling boards grow and we believe this trend is likely to continue as network operators try to maximise the capacity and performance of the resources at their disposal.”
