Fujitsu leads the way in Oracle financial planning deployments for local government
Fujitsu, the IT systems and services company, has become the first systems integrator in the UK enabled to deliver the Oracle E-Business Suite, using Oracle Business Accelerators for Local Government. Business Accelerators are a series of tools which enable Oracle partners, such as Fujitsu, to deliver applications much more quickly and at a lower cost. Fujitsu is a Certified Advantage Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
In particular, this enablement will allow Fujitsu to improve the service it offers to its local government customers - providing rapid low-risk Oracle deployments which will aid effective financial planning. Fujitsu’s position as the first to provide these Accelerators further strengthens its place as a leading IT provider to local government. Fujitsu currently manages Oracle implementations with councils including, Reading Borough Council and Newport City Council.
Debra Lilley, principal business consultant, Fujitsu and deputy chair of the UK Oracle User Group, says “Most UK councils face similar challenges and are under significant pressure to achieve a great deal with very limited resources. In particular, they face the recurring burden of achieving Gershon efficiency targets of 2.5% year-on-year. It is therefore vital that they can squeeze maximum value and efficiency from their core applications, such as Oracle. As a trusted partner it is our job to be able to consistently offer new technology and consultancy which drives down the cost of running our clients operations.”
Oracle Business Accelerators bring proven, best-in-class business flows to reduce the time and costs of implementing enterprise-wide solutions. Using Oracle Business Accelerators with intellectual property from both Oracle and its partners – such as Fujitsu – reduces implementation discovery, setup, and testing project phases. The result is predictable and expedited access to proven solutions that minimise the risk of new technology adoption.
Fujitsu’s position as the first UK Oracle provider to offer Business Accelerators for Local Government builds on the company’s significant competency as a Global Oracle partner. Fujitsu has over 2,300 Oracle Professionals and Certified Advantage Partner status across Applications, Middleware, Database and Business Intelligence streams. Fujitsu provides application managed services to over 250,000 Oracle end-users.
Karen Clarke, regional director, public sector, Oracle UK said, “Using intellectual property from both Oracle and our partners, business accelerators reduce implementation discovery, setup, and testing project phases. The result is predictable and expedited access to proven solutions that minimize the risk of new technology adoption.”
