Expert panel discussion hosted by Dr. Larry Ponemon and Cellcrypt
Webinar: 24th February 2010, 11:00 EST / 08:00 PST / 16:00 GMT
London, UK – 28th January 2010:
Cellcrypt, the leading provider of secure mobile voice calling, today announced that it is hosting a webinar on mobile phone voice call security moderated by Dr. Larry Ponemon and assembling a panel of experts.
This seminar is in response to
recent news (Dec 27, 2009) when researchers announced the codebook that unscrambles GSM calls – used in 80% of cell phones – had been computed and published on the web. Free for any criminal to use, this codebook lowers the cost of cell phone eavesdropping below $10,000.
But
recent research shows that while four out of five IT executives think mobile phones are equally/more vulnerable than email, less than 20% of businesses have adequate mobile voice protection in place and regularly discuss sensitive and confidential information on cell phones. This poses a corporate threat to commercial secrets, executive safety, data record breaches and financial transaction confidentiality.
Hosted by the world-renowned security pioneer
Dr. Larry Ponemon, this webinar assembles a panel of experts to discuss the key issues of the GSM Cracking threat, the wider implications of cell phone interception and how to cost-effectively implement adequate protection.
Featured Speakers:
• Dr. Larry Ponemon – Chairman & Founder, Ponemon Institute
• Patricia Titus – Chief Information Security Officer, Federal Systems,
Unisys• Dr. Stuart Shapiro – Principal Information Privacy and Security Engineer,
The MITRE Corporation• David Kuo – Senior Manager, Security & Risk,
