Ordinarily, the beginning of school, from a tech perspective, means shopping for a new desktop or laptop. But not anymore. Although laptops and desktops are cheaper than they have been, there is no need to buy a new system if you have one that fits your needs. However, there are a few other tech items that can make a student's life a little easier. A storage device is a must for students from middle school to college. The price of storage devices has fallen. They are cheaper now than they were when school ended in May. With a little comparative pricing of the big box electronic stores' advertisements, you can find a 1 gigabyte thumb drive for close to $10 or a 2 GB drive in the $15-$20 range. One GB is more than enough space for any pre-college student to save and transport work between school and home.
