Former IBM Sales Executive, David Macmillan, joins MDM leader, Initiate, to grow regional sales and manage operations
LONDON – 11th September 2009 – Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in data management solutions for information sharing and improved data quality, today announced the appointment of David Macmillan as vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Sales. In his role, Macmillan is responsible for Initiate EMEA sales operations, business development and alliance programs, for Initiate’s target markets including finance, banking and insurance, the healthcare and public sectors.
Macmillan brings a wealth of experience to Initiate having sold to over 40 countries across Europe, Eastern Europe, Russia, Southern Africa, Asia and the US in vertical sectors including financial (banking / insurance / wealth management), telco, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and public & utilities.
Prior to joining Initiate he was worldwide director of sales at IBM for InfoSphere (data warehouse and data integration solution). In this role he was responsible for large enterprise sales, and go-to-market strategies focusing on increasing growth in new territories and vertical sectors.
During his career Macmillan has been instrumental in the growth of US companies in EMEA through consistent delivery in excess of sales targets and the development of highly successful system integration relationships and sales channels. Macmillan previously held senior-level software sales executive and management roles at Superscape, Infinium Software, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Macmillan reports to Greg Shaw, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Initiate. “We welcome David to Initiate’s management team,” said Shaw. “David has a solid track record of developing, implementing and executing growth strategies and consistently improving the performance of the sales organisations that he has managed. We are counting on his leadership and will leverage his expertise for continued growth in EMEA.”
