Access to Real-Time Data Described as “Instrumental to Our Future”

DUBLIN, Calif and LONDON, October 17, 2012 - Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations, today announced that Integrated Technologies Ltd, a UK specialist in the contract design and manufacturer of medical, diagnostic and laboratory instruments used across the world, has selected Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) to support its continued expansion.

Headquartered in the UK, Integrated Technologies employs 110 people, and has a manufacturing facility in China.  With growth of 20% expected in the next 12 months and plans to expand its sales and servicing division in the United States, Integrated Technologies wants to replace a mixture of discrete software applications and spreadsheets, with a single ERP solution capable of helping it address several challenges.

“We’ve used a combination of spreadsheets and a small finance system to run the business to date,” said Tom Cole, CEO at Integrated Technologies Ltd.  “This has worked for us in the past, but now we need more efficient systems that will give us access to real-time information, give us better stock control and allow us to fully embrace lean manufacturing, without risking delays for our customers.”

Currently Integrated Technologies lacks full visibility of the status of materials, which has led to large stock holdings of components to reduce the risks of holding up customer orders.  Using spreadsheets makes giving accurate lead times a complicated process, especially for urgent orders, without time consuming manual analysis to calculate changes to the production schedule.

“The advanced planning and scheduling features or Epicor ERP will allow us to reduce our stock holding, improve lead times, and have better cash flow,” added Cole. “As we take orders, we will be able tell customers when they will be delivered immediately, not just make estimations based on previous experience.”

Epicor ERP will be used throughout the organisation, at all sites, replacing all existing sales, manufacturing and finance systems, as well as integrating with the specialist design applications used by Integrated Technologies’ electrical engineers.

Integrated Technologies reviewed a number of solutions before selecting Epicor ERP.  The ability to provide real-time information and visibility throughout the system was seen as a key differentiator, as well as its ease of use.  Integrated Technologies also plans to make extensive use of dashboards, to give staff access to key performance indicators relevant to their role.
