Interoute bridges new continent with new Hong Kong Point of Presence

London, 15 May 2012 - Interoute, owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, today announced that it has extended its optical network into Hong Kong. The new Point of Presence (PoP) will support Interoute’s customers in Asia, expanding the reach of its pan-European fibre optic network from Washington DC in the West, to South Africa in the South, and now Hong Kong in the East. Hong Kong is a growing global business hub and access to Interoute’s pan-European network will provide international and local enterprises with high capacity connectivity direct to 29 countries worldwide.

Hong Kong is a natural business hub for the Asia-Pacific. It provides a gateway to China and is close to other important emerging markets in the region. With competitive corporate tax rates, Hong Kong is also attracting an increasing number of global enterprises and was recently named as the best place to do business[1]. Customers can now connect directly to Interoute’s high capacity European network, and access its portfolio of enterprise data and video, cloud computing and managed hosting services as well as high capacity low latency connectivity.

Interoute’s Unified ICT enterprise strategy is focused on providing advanced managed services from its integrated network and data centre platform to customers looking for innovative and cost efficient ICT solutions to gain a competitive business advantage. Interoute will offer enterprise data and connectivity solutions to support customer demand for channel VPN and Wide Area Network (WAN) services. This will include internet access to the Interoute backbone, giving the region access to Europe’s largest network infrastructure.

Renzo Ravaglia EVP, Service Providers at Interoute, said: “Hong Kong is fast becoming a must have office location for global enterprises. Its unique position makes it ideal for a base in the Asia-Pacific region and we’re seeing an increasing number of our customers expand into the area. As they have increasingly global needs, it’s essential that they can rely on a fast, high capacity network for new business opportunities.”
