London, 1 October 2012 – Interoute, Europe’s largest cloud services platform, has been named a finalist in two categories of the V3 Technology Awards 2012. Following almost 300 entries from more than 100 companies, Interoute has been shortlisted in the Cloud Computing Provider 2012 category, while Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) has been nominated for the Best Virtualisation Product.
Winners are decided on the basis of votes from V3 readers. Vote for Interoute here.
Interoute is owner operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, delivering cloud infrastructure and services to international enterprises along with its Unified ICT suite of products and solutions.
Interoute Virtual Data Centre (VDC) is Interoute’s scalable, fully automated Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution. It is the first cloud computing solution that can be deployed with the simplicity and convenience of the public cloud, but also provides the security and confidence that a private cloud brings. It provides enterprise class on-demand computing, storage and applications, integrated into the heart of a business’s IT infrastructure.
Enterprises using Interoute VDC have the flexibility to pick and choose their machines, upgrade individual components and setup sophisticated networking. Unlike in the physical world, Interoute’s multiple VDC zones across Europe also allows for the creation of cost effective disaster recovery and highly resilient architectures.
Uniquely, Interoute VDC is built into the Interoute network, which forms Europe’s largest cloud services platform. This means organisations can decide if they want Interoute VDC to be available over the public Internet, kept private as part of their corporate ICT infrastructure, or both. It also means there is no charge for data transfer to and from the Interoute VDC, including data transfers to and from storage which are typically charged for.
Matthew Finnie, CTO, Interoute said, “Interoute has dedicated itself to innovating in the cloud services market. To have both Interoute and its Virtual Data Centre Service nominated for a V3 Technology Award is testament to the real customer benefits this innovation is delivering.”
The V3 Technology Awards celebrate the tech organisations and products that have had success in the last 12 months. Voting is now open and closes at 5pm on Monday 15 October 2012. The results will be announced at a reception in London in November and will appear in a special online report at V3.
