Interoute offers security as a service in response to raised cyber threat

London, 23 November 2011 – Interoute, owner and operator of Europe's largest cloud services platform, has responded to the raised cyber threat level by placing security services in its pan-European cloud.  With threat mitigation services built into the core of its network, organisations can turn to Interoute to secure their messaging systems, halt malicious content and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that are intent on disabling their websites or breaching their networks.

By managing high performance sensors built into the core of its network, Interoute can protect organisations from attack by diverting malicious traffic away from their corporate networks and towards a mitigation device where the traffic is cleaned.  The cloud based threat mitigation services operate within the core of the Interoute network, negating the need for organisations to install new hardware and software in order to respond to malicious attacks on their corporate networks.

Moving the security services onto the cloud platform results in a quick and easy set up and significantly lowers the cost of ownership. Organisations can simply log into Interoute’s pan-European cloud via its online portal, ‘The Cloud Store’, to monitor and assess the threats and report on incidents as they happen.

In 2010, Interoute changed the way enterprises procure network services, providing businesses with the flexibility to move, add and change their minds at any time without penalty.  In 2011, the addition of security services to its pan-European cloud brings the same flexibility to procuring security services.

Interoute is actively developing its security portfolio to encompass certification and encryption capabilities, developing next generation application firewalls, secure email encryption, archiving and managed endpoint protection within the first half of 2012. With vulnerability and policy management, secure storage, security information and event management and validated threat feeds available in H2 2012. All of these services will be delivered from Interoute’s pan-European cloud.
