New 8,000 m2 data centre now operational; first customer installations completed
Brings number of Interxion European data centres to 26, with over 55,000m2 of equipped space in 11 countries
Interxion, a leading European operator of carrier-neutral data centres, today announced that its PAR 5 data centre at Saint Denis is now operational. The 8,000 m2 data centre provides over 4,000 m2 of equipped space. A significant portion of the space has been pre-sold, and the first customer implementations have already been completed.
The completion of the new facility comes only a few months after the successful opening of the new PAR 6 data centre and underlines Interxion’s leading position in the Paris colocation sector. At a pan-European level, the opening of PAR 5 brings the total amount of operational Interxion facilities across Europe to 26, with over 55,000m2 of equipped space in 11 countries.
The data centre has been designed using Interxion’s energy-efficient modular architecture, with free cooling and maximum-efficiency components as standard. It offers 2N UPS power and N+1 cooling as well as advanced alarm and monitoring systems, and its redundant 16 MVA grid connection allows for high-density-power configurations to be provided to customers as standard. Via dark fibre interconnects to Interxion’s other Paris data centres, the new data centre also provides an exceptionally well-connected environment; in addition to over 50 carriers and ISPs, PAR5 customers can also connect directly to the PaNAP, FreeIX, PARIX and SFINX Internet exchanges.
“We have had a very busy but successful year building out our facilities to meet growing customer demand, and we now offer an unmatched geographical footprint of best-in-class facilities in the Paris region,” said Fabrice Coquio, Interxion France Managing Director. “The growth in IP traffic and the mass migration of applications to the web put diverse connectivity and high-density power at the top of the customer agenda, and these are at the heart of our data centre offering.”
