Interxion, a leading European operator of carrier-neutral data centres, today announced that its sixth Paris data centre, at Ivry-sur-Seine, is now operational. The majority of the data centre’s 1,400 m2 of equipped space has been pre-sold, and customer implementations are currently underway.
The completion of the new facility, designated as PAR6, highlights Interxion’s leading position in the Paris data centre market; the company now has a total of 27,000 m2 of gross space in six prime locations distributed to the north, west and southeast of the city centre. The opening of PAR6 brings the total number of operational Interxion facilities across Europe to 25 data centres in 11 countries.
PAR6 has been designed using Interxion’s energy-efficient modular architecture, with free cooling and maximum-efficiency components as standard. The data centre offers 2N UPS power and N+1 cooling, as well as advanced alarm and monitoring systems and supports the latest high-density power configurations.
With a 4MVA redundant grid connection, high-density-power configurations can be provided to customers as standard. The new data centre also provides a connectivity-rich environment; in addition to an exceptional range of in-house network service providers, PAR6 customers can benefit from direct access to the PaNAP, FreeIX, PARIX and SFINX Internet exchanges.
“The successful completion of PAR6 extends the diversity of locations and facilities we can offer in the city still further,” said Fabrice Coquio, Managing Director Interxion France. “It means that Interxion can offer a large range of tailored colocation solutions to customers, leveraging our unparalleled footprint and experience to satisfy a fast-growing market.”
