Network access specialist, The Kenton Group, has enhanced its MAR 150 DSL/3G Access Router, making it smaller and more compact than ever before. The access router, which is ideal for those in transportation and utilities, is designed specifically to deliver high availability performance in harsh and extreme environments.

The new version of Kenton’s MAR 150 DSL/3G Access Router is an environmentally hardened solution and full service gateway for data and voice applications, delivering up to 27Mbps on copper infrastructure with the added benefit of having automatic failover to mobile data networks if the primary link fails. It provides secured internet access through a sophisticated inspection firewall and offers IP Quality of Service features including real-time processing of high priority, delay sensitive applications and guaranteed bandwidth for selected flows.

The router is waterproof to IP67 standards and has the ability to cope with extreme temperatures, from as low as -40°C, right up to +75°C. It has the capability of using an external hi-gain antenna and antenna diversity in areas where installation is in a shielded environment or where mobile coverage is marginal, and is interruption tolerant.

Several auto discovery and update features make the network roll-out straightforward, allowing the installation of units with a standard configuration. Once connected to the network the router automatically retrieves all specific information from the service provider's databases and is quickly ready for the service.
