TCL Sponsors Competitions at Wellcome Collection Centre, London, December 3rd and University of Exeter, December 7th
LONDON, UK, December 3rd, 2009 –
TCL, the sponsors of
Zappers, today announces that two application testing events will take place in the UK this December. Four teams of software testers, including professionals, academics and amateurs, will compete to find bugs in either a desktop, mobile, gaming or web application at the Wellcome Collection Centre in London and the Learning Resource Centre, Harrison Building at the University of Exeter on December 3rd and 7th respectively. The sessions provide an opportunity for anyone interested in
software testing to meet like-minded people, learn from one another and debate hot topics.
In November, team ‘Bangers and Mash’ won at the Zappers event in Leeds, finding a total of 10 bugs in Sahi web automation and testing tool; followed closely by ‘Splat’ with nine bugs.
The world of software testing is changing rapidly, with many companies choosing to use bespoke virtual quality assurance teams rather than hiring additional in-house QA personnel or signing long-term outsourcing contracts.
“By compiling a crowdsourced software testing team, built based on environment and demographics such as geographic location, language, age and sex, real-time responsiveness can be delivered,” explained Stewart Noakes, Chairman and co-founder at TCL, whose partner, uTest, has built a community of over 20,000 testers across the world.
“A complete test cycle can be run in 48 hours or less enabling organisations to get their application to market much quicker, launch higher quality products and control the cost of testing without long-term contracts,” he added.
To sign up for the events, which run from 6.30pm to 9:30 pm on December 3rd and 7th, visit
