Luxembourg, MACH the provider of effective and reliable business processes to optimise roaming profitability, today announced that the MTN Group has exclusively signed a Framework Agreement with MACH to cover its operations in the Middle East and Africa.
Headquartered in South Africa, the MTN Group is a leading provider of communications services offering cellular network access and business solutions to over 68 million subscribers in 21 countries throughout MEA. MTN is already a MACH client, however this is the first time a Group agreement has been made. MTN Yemen will also migrate to MACH as a new customer during 2008.
Sifiso Dabengwa, COO MTN Group says: “The MTN Group recognises the quality of MACH’s product portfolio and their reputation. MACH’s local support, knowledge and understanding of MTN’s business were among the considerations in MTN’s decision to commit to and formalise the business relationship with MACH.”
The MEA region is experiencing a period of consolidation. Therefore it was essential for the MTN Group to have one trusted partner to help them deliver their vision. Different parts of the region are experiencing varying stages of market penetration - the Middle East, with more than 60%, is thereby seeking to build on existing business through expansion with new technologies. Africa has around 31% market penetration with year on year GSM connections growth predicted to be a similar percentage, and is enjoying its status as a significant emerging market.
The MTN Group is in a prime position to capitalise on this combination and understands that in today’s climate, the need for advanced Data Clearing and NRTRDE services is essential to fuel growth and process and protect revenues.
Terence Ledger, CCO MACH comments: “MACH offers niche expertise at a regional level combined with a global perspective. We have an unmatched track record and complementary portfolio of services that will prepare, equip and optimise the whole of the MTN Group throughout all stages of the roaming lifecycle. We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with MTN.”
