MACH Halts Global Mobile Roaming Fraud
« Posted: June 12, 2008, 07:59:45 PM »

MACH to become the de facto roaming fraud detection centre Luxembourg, 12th June 2008 – MACH today announced that it has now been selected by the majority of GSM networks worldwide to combat roaming fraud.

As of 1st October, 2008, roaming calls abroad have to be reported to the home network in a very short timeframe.  Since 2007 MACH has developed and successfully marketed a solution that allows networks to outsource this process.  By enabling the GSM networks to send all call events within minutes after completion to one data hub, MACH effectively becomes the nerve centre for detecting and halting roaming fraud.  And with another 100 networks filling up the order books MACH is now seen as the company to turn to when it comes to combating roaming fraud.

MACH clears two out of every three roaming calls on GSM and CDMA networks and it settles more than 60% of the inter operator wholesale invoice amounts.  With this latest announcement and new contract wins MACH re-confirms its position as the world handler of near real-time call events.

“We have now reached a tipping point which positions us as the epicentre of all roaming events taking place globally.  We have been able to show the industry that MACH is its true protector against roaming fraud. That in itself is an achievement. But we will not stop there – we will continue to build our systems to detect and stop every single fraud record at once,” commented Martin Lippert, CEO of MACH.

Highlighting fraudulent behaviour has been a fundamental part of the strategic plan to stop revenue leakage, a priority for MACH.  Being an active member of the GSM Association, the company has been an important influence in leading the mobile community across various issues of implementation and compliance.

“MACH has been a driver of the ‘NRTRDE’ initiative since its inception, enabling the industry’s first bilateral test between Swisscom and TDC in 2007. Less than a year later we have convinced the GSM community of our solution.  Because we hire the right people, invest in the right software and we run the best platform, we have been selected time and again;” concludes Martin Lippert.
