DUEBENDORF-ZURICH, Switzerland – September 1, 2009 – Myriad Group AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: MYRN), a global leader in mobile technology with software in over 2 billion phones, today announced the appointment of James Bodha as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 2nd. Bringing both significant international experience and deep industry knowledge of the mobile sector, his primary responsibility will be to ensure that Myriad’s financial operations management evolves in line with the growth of the company.
Prior to joining Myriad, Bodha was Group CFO at Aircom International, the market leader in mobile network planning and optimisation. During his more than 3 years in that role, he was responsible for building and leading a global finance organisation in line with that company’s 1300 staff in 18 worldwide offices, and improving the company’s financial systems and internal control processes.
“James has a proven track record in helping businesses establish a strong platform for sustainable, profitable growth,” commented Simon Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer of Myriad Group. “His tremendous international experience and sector specific knowledge will add significant value to our business from day one. James' appointment represents another key step as Myriad continues to develop its products and increase its global footprint.”
“The mobile software market has recently undergone dramatic changes, and it is now the key to driving innovation in the mobile industry. By combining Myriad’s deep expertise with its global presence, the company is ideally positioned to lead this market,” added Bodha. “I am excited to be working with Simon and his team to deliver great products, sustained profitable growth and ultimately add significant value to shareholders.”
Before Aircom, Bodha was CFO of the Global Mobile Handset Software Division of Openwave Systems (NASDAQ: OPWV), a NASDAQ-listed mobile software and services company based in San Francisco. His arrival at Openwave followed its acquisition of Magic4, the global market leader in mobile messaging, where Bodha had been CFO. He has also held senior roles in a variety of publicly listed companies in the engineering, retail and technology sectors. In addition, Bodha is a graduate of the University of Manchester (UK), a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW).
Following a handover period, Myriad’s current CFO, Dr. Konrad Hurni, will be leaving the company. Myriad’s management and its Board of Directors express their thanks to Dr. Hurni for his many valuable contributions to the company over the last few years, including his strong performance in the successful integration of Esmertec and Purple Labs to create Myriad.
