Company’s SIX Swiss Exchange symbol has changed to MYRN (Formerly ESMN for Esmertec AG)
DUEBENDORF-ZURICH, Switzerland – April 20, 2009 – Myriad Group AG (formerly Esmertec AG) announced today that it has successfully completed its purchase of mobile phone software provider Purple Labs SA.
Based in Chambéry, France, Purple Labs is the industry leader in mobile browsers and messaging, complementing Myriad’s leadership in Java engines, Android platforms and USSD-based customer self-care. The combined company is now the largest mobile software developer in Europe, with a worldwide customer base that includes all major phone manufacturers and 30 mobile network operators.
Simon Wilkinson, Myriad Group CEO commented, “Since the announcement of this deal in February, the response from our current and prospective customers has been very positive. The big manufacturers and network operators are now more focused on software, including Android, and need strong software partners that have the depth to deliver major programs.”
“Myriad now has more than 800 mobile software engineers – this makes us one of the biggest software teams in the mobile industry, and gives us the credibility to compete for the bigger deals.”
Myriad Group listed on SIX Swiss Exchange (SIX: MYRN)
At an Extraordinary General Meeting held March 19, 2009, shareholders approved the additional capital necessary for the all-share acquisition of Purple Labs SA.
