NEC Secures WiMAX Forum® Certification for Base Stations and 2.5GHz Mobile Subscriber Units

London, UK, Sept 2nd, 2008 ---- NEC Corporation announced today that it has received the WiMAX Forum Certified™ seal of approval for its base station and PC card, part of NEC’s comprehensive 2.5GHz WiMAX product portfolio.

Each newly certified product has faced a stringent suite of interoperability tests, which the WiMAX Forum sets out to ensure that different vendor systems work seamlessly with one another.

This certification follows a long history of global WiMAX™ successes for NEC. Notably, in June of this year, NEC became the first manufacturer to be certified through the WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Lab in Taiwan.
