The company will showcase its physical security products during the two-day event, alongside an advice clinic in partnership with software firm Quest, where delegates can learn about migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7.
On its stand C28 at the show, NEC will demonstrate three of its applications for facial recognition: Queue management; access control; and watch lists.
Queue management, intended for use in retail environments and airports, is enabled through NEC's monitoring and traffic flow apps which can track the route of a person. NEC's access control application uses facial recognition to open a gate or door, while the watch list can detect both undesirable or desirable individuals and alert a relevant staff member.
NEC's facial recognition technology allows the camera capture of an image which then passes through a database. The company's technology NeoFace™ has been independently tested as the fastest and most accurate facial recognition software by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
NEC's facial recognition technologies have been adopted globally for government, security and commercial applications, including law enforcement applications, immigration systems, and amusement park access control. The products can be implemented as a functionally independent application, or seamlessly integrated into new or existing biometric security solutions by system integrators and solution providers.
NEC offers a comprehensive set of integrated security solutions including multi-biometric identification, access gates, video surveillance and behaviour pattern analysis.
IP EXPO, the UK’s number one IT infrastructure event, will showcase the latest solutions for IP Networks, Wireless, Storage, Virtualization, Cloud Computing and Security. Security will play a key role in this year’s show alongside BYOD and Big Data as IT departments continue to grow and change.
