NETGEM and Monaco Telecom Announce Next Generation TV Service

Industry Leaders Present Next Generation IPTV Service At IBC

IBC Amsterdam. September 10th, 2009. Leading IPTV set-top box manufacturer and software developer, Netgem (www.netgem.com) and Monaco Telecom, the innovative telecom operator (www.monaco.mc), today announced the impending launch of an interactive TV service, that integrates multiple and heterogeneous sources of contents into one, attractive and easy to use experience.

Built upon Monaco Telecom’s existing cable and internet network, the service has been developed using NetgemTV, a next generation software platform featuring a highly visual and intuitive user interface as well as Video On Demand, Media Centre, numerous internet-based services, such as web radio, local Internet TV and a service information portal.

“Netgem understands our business and our desire to create new and innovative services for our customers,” said Martin Péronnet Monaco Telecom managing director. “In developing our new interactive TV service, we been able to not only take advantage of Netgem’s mass market readiness and scalability, but also maximise our network investment, provide a rich stream of personalised content and a truly compelling customer offering.”

Speaking on behalf of Netgem, managing director Christophe Aulnette said, “We are delighted to partner with Monaco Telecom on this exciting new service that combines the best of broadcast with the power of Internet to deliver leading edge, interactive TV experience,” explained Aulnette, appointed by Netgem to drive the company’s expansion into European and worldwide markets.

Exhibiting at IBC for the first time since 2002, Netgem can be found in the IPTV Zone, Stand IP521. In addition to presenting Netgem TV, the company will show examples of IPTV and Hybrid TV services for customers including Monaco Telecom.
