Is it written somewhere that you have to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the same way every year? Is it just about the partying, alcohol and the midnight kiss?

New Year is the most celebrated holiday around the world. People everywhere want to have a good time. For many, this means watching fireworks or going to bars. But not everyone sticks to conventions.

Many cultures have their own ceremonies: Argentineans Celebrate New Year by throwing water bags at each other. In Baikal, divers carry a New Year tree to the bottom of the frozen lake. In Germany they pour melted led in cold water to decipher a person’s future. In Machu Picchu, Peruvians cleanse there aura in a rebirthing ceremony.

If these things seem a little strange to you, don’t go out, go online. That is exactly what John Goldby from Manchester did on New Year's Eve 2008. He went online at Casino.com and won $4,670 in the roulette. What a perfect way to start the new year.

Online casinos are offering New Year bonuses to help players start the year with full pockets. Leading the crowd is Casino.com that is offering a special January Reload promotion. Jeff Turner, Marketing Director at Casino.com, commented, “Who doesn’t want to start the year off with a new Mercedes? Our special New Year promotion lets you enjoy the holiday spirit while you play online and win.” Looks like online casinos are helping you start the year on the right foot, proving that it is not just about the midnight kiss.
