U.S. high schools are obsolete, but North Dakota can reverse that trend by integrating technology into classrooms and shaking up teaching styles, a local businessman said Monday.... “How do you change it so it becomes relevant?� The query comes as Oak Grove prepares to start the school year by arming students with new portable tablet computers. The initiative equips each of the private school’s 189 ninth-through 12th-graders with laptops to use in and outside the classroom. Oak Grove teachers returned to school this week to learn how to use the technology. Deborah Lowther, an author and a professor at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, will discuss technology teaching strategies with faculty.
