Business Process Management (BPM) event to be held November 11-12, 2008 at Vanenburg Castle, Putten, Netherlands

The Object Management Group (OMG) today announced that industry veteran, Jan Baan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cordys, will be the guest keynote speaker at the inaugural BPM Think Tank Europe 2008. BPM Think Tank Europe will be held November 11-12, 2008 at Vanenburg Castle, Putten, Netherlands. Sponsored by Cordys and Lombardi Software the Think Tank will comprise of interactive sessions and round table discussions in a similar format to the original BPM Think Tank event.

This popular business-oriented event will involve attendees in interactive roundtables moderated by leading international BPM experts. At BPM Think Tank Europe 2008, experts and practitioners alike will gather to discuss the use of BPM to achieve successful business results. Our unique format combining roundtable discussions, case study presentations, panel sessions, as well as BPM tools demonstrations, will allow participants to gain uncommon insight into BPM in the real world and in the process owner’s office.

Keynote Presentation: The Process Challenge

To be a market leader in today’s competitive business environment means embracing change. The modern firm must be highly flexible and be able to change its business strategy very quickly responding the fluctuating market demands. To close the gap between legacy infrastructure systems and competitive advantage, organisations need to put a business process layer in place to maximise the return on investment from current infrastructure investments. In better understanding the business challenges facing customers, Cordys has adopted a new approach - the Cordys Business Operations Platform.

A key question posed in the presentation is why organisations should build a Business Operations Platform which enables true business agility. Understanding that implementing the Business Operations Platform allows the business leaders to design, build, and rapidly deploy executable business processes directly from those designs and is crucial in ensuring that business can compete in the global process driven economy. In this presentation you will also find the critical ideas for what you should do particularly well to win as a networked company.

About the Keynote Presenter

Jan Baan has over 25 years of entrepreneurial and business leadership experience in the software sector. Internationally recognised for his key role in creating the worldwide market for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Jan is a self-made entrepreneur.

Jan founded The Baan Company in 1978, soon after attending Business College. With the development of his first software package in 1979, Jan commenced what was to become a pioneering career in the ERP industry. Jan founded Cordys in 2001, together with Theodoor van Donge, the key architect behind The Baan Company’s pioneering ERP solutions.

Jan’s mission with Cordys is to solve the IT implementation and change issues faced by today’s extended enterprise by enabling an organisation to be more responsive to changing business conditions.

Conference Overview

BPM Think Tank Europe 2008 participants will participate in at least three unique, highly interactive BPM Roundtables over the course of two days. These roundtables are personalised, interactive group sessions moderated by subject matter experts who will introduce the topic and move on to the group discussion that uniquely characterizes BPM Think Tank. These BPM Roundtables have been a highly acclaimed feature of the BPM Think Tank in the past and clearly differentiate this event from others in the BPM marketplace. Presentations before and after the roundtable sessions will focus on the business benefits of BPM, presented by a cross section of highest-level enterprise executives and hands-on practitioners.

BPM Think Tank Europe 2008 is especially relevant to the business-oriented BPM practitioner. This includes practitioners at all levels who are responsible for running, managing, analyzing and executing business processes, in addition to BP architects and consultants, and vendors and users of BPM tools.
