OnExamination's UKCAT practice course offers July discount Online course helps pupils get into medical school
Cardiff, UK, 30th June 2008 - OnExamination, part of the BMJ group, today announced a July special offer to schools, which will allow their sixth formers interested in attending medical school access to its online UKCAT practice resource. The online practice resource is designed to familiarise medical school candidates with the question types and exam techniques required to excel on the UKCAT exam.
Intended to encourage aspiring medics to prepare for the important entrance exam during the summer holidays, OnExamination is offering schools a 25% discount, which allows their students access to a UKCAT Practice programme that normally retails at £35 for one month and £50 for three months.
UKCAT Practice provides medical and dental school candidates with six practice papers comprising over 200 questions. It aims to support candidates in familiarising themselves with the question categories of verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and decision analysis and offers them the opportunity to perfect their UKCAT exam technique. Immediate performance analysis and feedback is given to the candidate, ranking them against their peers.
UKCAT testing begins on 7th July 2008 for students entering medical school in 2009. In 2007 UK medical schools received 73,274 applications but only 7,837 were accepted.* Candidates taking UKCAT can only sit the exam once in 2008, making their time spent practising for the test advantageous.
