London, 29 October 2007 - Edge Associates, the professional services business specialising in large scale data warehousing and business intelligence, today announced the appointment of former Orange UK senior manager Andrew Goldthorpe, as a  Director.

Goldthorpe’s key objectives at Edge Associates will be to deliver more business value to the the consultancy’s European clients by offering end-to-end business intelligence products and services, especially in the telecoms and finance sectors.  His appointment strengthens Edge Associates’ commitment to developing services in business intelligence, where maximising ROI requires a balanced approach to meeting the needs of the client’s technical and business stakeholders.

During his most recent position at Orange UK, Goldthorpe drove the successful strategic migration of an outsourced data warehouse to a Netezza in-house platform. The Netezza Performance Server system is an enterprise-class streaming analytic™ appliance, designed specifically for high-performance terascale analytics. Edge, which boasts customers such as Carphone Warehouse, VirginMedia, Orange and T-Mobile, is an approved Netezza system integrator and has tasked Goldthorpe to build on their position as industry leaders in Netezza implementation.
