London, 7th July, 2009 - PageOne, the UK’s leading mobile messaging company to the public sector and enterprise announces that it has today been presented with ISO14001 certification, the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems.
ISO14001 certification was awarded after PageOne worked in conjunction with a third party to create a framework that underpinned PageOne’s existing environmental policy and that works alongside the company’s current environmental management system. Chris Jones, CEO, PageOne, commented “Protection of the environment is high on the agenda of many of our customers, investors, employees and the general public at large. PageOne is committed to carrying out its business processes in an environmentally-sensitive way and we are delighted that ISO has recognised this commitment with the ISO14001 ratification.”
The ISO 14001 certification, awarded by the International Organisation for Standardisation, recognises that an organisation has implemented and maintained an environmental management system that looks to achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.
ISO14001 was established in 1996 and has been awarded to companies in 138 countries making it ‘the’ world’s environmental standard. The environmental management system it outlines ensures that organisations set objectives and targets and verifies that they follow good practice in environmental sustainability.
