Four of the world's leading Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX and Netnod, are hosting the fourth European Peering Forum (EPF4) on the 14th and 15th September in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Sponsored by Equinix, TDC and Interxion amongst others, EPF4 will bring together more than 200 individuals from the respective IXP member organisations to discuss all aspects of peering from negotiation and strategy to operation.

Peering is a cost neutral arrangement between two Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to exchange Internet traffic and is undertaken to reduce costs and provide more direct routing of that traffic.

Nurani Nimpuno of Netnod said: "We are delighted to have joined the European Peering Forum as a host IXP. This is a very important event for the peering industry in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe too. Meeting in this way allows delegates to establish and extend peering relationships as well as share information beneficial to the whole peering community."

The two day agenda includes a wide variety of content including presentations on the Scandinavian peering landscape, QoS in IP interconnection and a discussion on the impact of privacy legislation and data retention. Also featured is a debate on Peering vs. Transit in Europe, DDoS mitigation and an IPv6 peering panel moderated by Martin Levy. In addition, gold sponsor Equinix will host a session on the topic of capacity management.

You can find out more about EPF4, including the full agenda, by visiting the dedicated European Peering Forum website: www.peering-forum.eu
