Pirelli Broadband Solutions Unveils New Gateways For Small Business Customers At BBWF Europe 2007
Milan and Berlin, 9 October 2007 - Pirelli Broadband Solutions, the broadband access and photonics company within the Pirelli Group, today announced that it will introduce and demo its Discus™ DSBG Series, a new line of business-class routers, at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2007 conference and exhibition, taking place in Berlin until 11 October 2007.
The new line of business gateways introduces a new and cost-effective approach to hardware modularity, enabling a business owner to buy exactly what equipment is needed and upgrade to suit the growth of the business. The DSBG series, supporting TR-069 automatic configuration and provisioning, also features value-added services such as web content filtering, anti-virus, e-mail filtering, and video surveillance which are available on-demand via a web-based, service-delivery portal. In addition, Pirelli devices can be equipped with smart card readers and support IP-PBX services.
“With this new line of business gateways we cover a gap in the marketplace. Up until now, the needs of SOHO/small business customers have been underserved.” said Corrado Rocca, senior vice president, Product Marketing and Development for Pirelli Broadband Solutions. “We found an opportunity to respond to their needs with an efficient solution that is tailor-made for them - providing the right features at the right price. Telco operators will find an attractive solution for increasing their ARPU.”
The Discus DSBG Series is a cost-effective solution designed specifically for SOHO and professional markets, featuring a mix of FXS and ISDN BRI voice interfaces and advanced data services. The comprehensive portfolio of gateways features ADSL 2/2+ devices available with a four-port Ethernet switch and mixed voice configurations (PSTN and ISDN BRI) with up to eight simultaneous voice channels. Pirelli devices support Wi-Fi connectivity both for data and VoWLAN applications.
