Light Reading Cites Unique LA-130 as Market’s First Solution for Backhauling 2G, 3G and HSDPA Traffic over DSL Infrastructure
New York, October 9, 2007: RAD Data Communications has been selected by Light Reading, one of the most influential telecommunications news organizations in the world, as one of five finalists for a prestigious Leading Lights Award.
RAD’s unique LA-130 DSL cell site gateway was nominated in the “Best New Product” category for privately owned companies. The LA-130 is the market’s first gateway capable of aggregating 2G, 3G and HSDPA traffic from cell sites and transporting it efficiently over existing, cost-effective DSL infrastructure. It is the only cellular backhauling device on the market that combines ATM, pseudowire and DSL all in one box, providing a versatile transport solution for use over either ATM or IP DSLAMs.
The LA-130 DSL cell site gateway is fully interoperable with leading vendors’ ATM, DSL and pseudowire equipment, and has already been deployed by several major carriers in Europe.
Light Reading’s Leading Lights Awards are awarded to leading companies and their executives for their outstanding achievements in developing next-generation network solutions for the communications industry. The Leading Lights Awards are widely regarded as the most credible and authoritative such citations. The panel of award judges is comprised of Light Reading editors and analysts from Heavy Reading, its independent market research organization.
The winners of the 2007 Leading Lights Awards will be announced October 15 in New York City before an audience of industry executives, Wall Street financial analysts, and technology and business press.
