Reef Point Systems names Julian C Welch as VP Sales leading regional business development in Europe, Middle East and Africa
London, UK – 1st October 2007 – Reef Point Systems, a leader in fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) border platforms and solutions, today announced Julian C Welch has joined the organisation, heading up sales and business development in the EMEA region. A twenty-plus year veteran in the next-generation telecommunications and technology industries, Welch will work with Tier One fixed and mobile network operators and their partners, as the company continues to expand its footprint in providing fixed-mobile connectivity solutions securing networks across multiple borders and media types.

Before joining Reef Point Systems, Welch was Business Development Director for TAZZ Networks, a leading provider in Policy Management Solutions. Prior to that, he was an Executive Officer with Congress Communications, a European sales accelerator firm for technology start-ups, including Inkotmi, Ramp, Netscreen and Top Layer Networks.
Welch joined Congress from Arrowpoint Communications, where he successfully built and managed the EMEA Technical team. Arrowpoint was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2000. Prior to Arrowpoint, he worked in a number of senior management roles in the Shiva Corporation focusing on the service provider market and managing an OEM relationship with Nortel. Welch started his career in Secure Telecommunications within the British Army.
